What is PGII?
The Department of Transportation (DOT) uses a system known as packing groups (PG) to classify the level of danger posed by hazardous materials during transport. There are 3 packing group classifications: PGI (great danger), PGII (medium danger) and PGIII (minor danger)1

BD® PGII Sharps Containers meet the DOT packaging group II requirements for medical waste disposal, eliminating the additional expense of secondary packaging.
